Having a massive Boeing 777 aircraft scaled down to 1:60 is already a tough challenge, but to create it out of Manila folders? That’s pretty neat. Luca Iaconi-Stewart just did the coolest thing on taking an ambitious project into his hands. The San Francisco based artist took as an inspiration the lesson he learned from high school, which is to create models out of cut papers.
He first started the project back in 2008 — when he was just a junior, and the project continued 5 years later as he works on every detail of the plain. Stewart reveals that he only relied on the detailed structure of an Air India 777-300ER online. He then plans out the drawings digitally by the use of Adobe Illustrator.
Before assembling anything in, Stewart syas that everything has to be done perfectly. He actually built 2 aircrafts, a bunch of failed attemps helped him ensure everything will be flawless.
