In Turkey, Artist Plays Up With Typography That Seems To Pop-Out Of Paper

Yes, they look like something created digitally, popping out from the canvas as if they were three-dimensional fonts. They’re not. They’re hand drawn. And they came from the talented, skillful hands of Turkish graphic designer slash illustrator, Tolga Girgin. The artist have come up with a unique form of calligraphy that appears to be jumping out from paper, wanting to get out from its usual canvas. The light and shadows show a different perspective, giving Girgin a unique form of typography. His native land, Turkey, gave him strong Islamic influences and this can be very much reflected on his work.
